I believe in stories...
And I'm finally beginning to tell my own.
For most of my life, I felt like my story really wasn't one worth telling. Growing up a secure, middle-class, cis, white-male with a supportive family, I always felt (for lack of a better word) average. With all the folks out there with much more tumultuous backgrounds, I felt the sting of imposter syndrome, putting anything out there about myself at all.
With the benefit of age, experience, the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurship, travel, some amazing friends, and lots of therapy, I'm finally beginning to understand the mix of unique experiences that makes me, uniquely me.
I'm starting to see how the path I've taken is inextricably intertwined with my family history, my upbringing, and the experiences I've had. I've had a long and winding road, but when you step back and look at it from a distance, it all starts to make sense.
Live a great story. The first time I saw the sticker, it resonated big time. I don’t have any tattoos, but if I someday choose to get one, that logo is high in the running. The sense of irreverence and adventure it embodies is how I’ve always wanted to live, but haven’t always been good about pursuing it - I’m not nearly as much of a free spirit as I’d like to be. I felt I’d gotten closer to it over the years, and was starting to embark on some bold new directions, and then *BAM* a global pandemic. The horror.
Emerging from Covid life, I vow to be much more intentional about the work I do, the choices I make, and the people I surround myself with. I’m living a values-driven life, starting some bold new projects, and embarking on some great new adventures.
I plan to record those here. I’ll also be posting business insights, creative pursuits, and bits of inspiration along the way. This site is as much about self-discovery as it is about communicating something meaningful to anyone who visits. I hope you enjoy the content and find some value in it. I hope you’ll join me, in the pursuit of living a great story.
People are wonderful. I love individuals... Every person you look at; you can see the universe in their eyes, if you're really looking.
